    MINUTES

    The Town Council of the Town of Kinsey held its regular meeting on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Senior Citizen Building.

    Mayor Jason Reneau called the meeting to order.

    Others present were Council Members Cindy Gaylor, Tina Nowlin, Tommy Ferguson, King Thomas, Austin McArdle, Vivian Jones, Town Clerk Rachel Exum, Police Chief Robert Jones, Water Operator Max Colon, Officer Antonio Walker and several citizens of the community. Absent was Council Member Joe Watson.

    Council Member King Thomas opened the meeting with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

    Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 18, 2021 meeting and Council Member Austin McArdle second. All were in favor so the motion carried.

    Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to go with WOW for the internet at the Senior Citizen Building and Council Member Austin McArdle second. All were in favor so the motion carried.

    Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to send both Max and Josh to the ARWA Annual Technical Training Conference in March. Council Member Vivian Jones second and all were in favor so the motion carried.

    Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to buy the 3400 PSI pressure washer for $339.00 and Council Member Cindy Gaylor second. All were in favor so the motion carried.

    Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to adjourn and Council Member Austin McArdle second. All were in favor so the meeting was adjourned.

    The Mayor and the Council Members went into the Administrative Meeting and the following item was moved to the Council Agenda:

    • Neptune 360

    Meeting was adjourned.

    MINUTES

    The Town Council of the Town of Kinsey held a Zoom meeting on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 6:00 pm.

    Mayor Jason Reneau called the meeting to order.

    Others present were Council Members Tommy Ferguson, Tina Nowlin, Cindy Gaylor, Vivian Jones, Austin McArdle, Joe Watson, Town Clerk Rachel Exum and a few of the citizens of the community. Absent was Council Member King Thomas.

    Mayor Jason Reneau opened the meeting with Prayer.

    Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 21, 2020 meeting and Council Member Vivian Jones second. All were in favor so the motion carried.

    Council Member Austin McArdle made a motion to approve the November 2020 Financials and Council Member Cindy Gaylor second. All were in favor so the motion carried.

    Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to adjourn and Council Member Cindy Gaylor second. All were in favor so the meeting was adjourned.

    The Mayor and the Council Members went into the Administrative Meeting and the following items were moved to the Council Agenda:

    • Internet at the Senior Citizen Building
    • ARWA Annual Technical Training Conference in March
    • Pressure Washer

    They wanted to keep the Neptune 360 on the Administrative Agenda.

  • Building Permits

    Apply for a building permit at the Town Hall during normal business hours. The cost of a building permit will vary depending on the work being done.

  • Business License

    Apply for a business license at the Town Hall Monday thru Friday during normal business hours. The cost for a business license varies based on the type of business.

  • Car Tags

    Car tags can be renewed at the Town Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 3:30-5pm. Payment methods are Checks, Money Orders, Certified Checks, Debit Cards. There is a 2.5% fee for use of a Debit or Credit Card.

    Tags renewal month is based on the first letter of your last name.

    May: H, O

    June: M, I

    July: P, L

    August: J, K, R

    September: Q, S, T

    October & November: Commercial, Fleet Vehicles and Lease without option to buy.

  • Electricity

    Electricity is provided by Wiregrass Electric. You can reach them at 800-239-4602

  • Trash Pickup

    Trash pickup is provided by Houston County Sanitation. Pickup will be on Thursdays of each week with the exception of the Holiday Schedule

    While Kinsey has it’s own Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s office does our dispatching. If you need police assistance in an emergency call 911 otherwise call the Houston County Sheriff’s department at 334-677-4888
