MINUTES


The Town Council of the Town of Kinsey held its regular meeting on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Senior Citizen Building.


Mayor Jason Reneau called the meeting to order.


Others present were Council Members Cindy Gaylor, Tina Nowlin, Tommy Ferguson, King Thomas, Joe Watson, Vivian Jones, Town Clerk Rachel Exum, Police Chief Tim Hurd, Water Operator Max Colon, Animal Control Officer Joshua Waybright and several citizens of the community. Absent was Council Member Austin McArdle.


Council Member King Thomas opened the meeting with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.


Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 19, 2021 meeting and Council Member Tina Nowlin second. All were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to approve the Financials for June 2021 and Council Member King Thomas second. All were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Cindy Gaylor made a motion to table the new street light on Nomad Circle and Council Member Joe Watson second. All were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to waive the second reading of the Temporary Bond and to approve the Loan Resolution. Council Member Tommy Ferguson second and all were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to approve the raise for Lisa Raley/Court Clerk to $11.98 with the stipulation that if she can’t do the Court Clerk job, she will go back making her previous salary. Council Member Joe Watson second and all were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to approve to pay more to Alabama League of Municipalities and Council Member King Thomas second. All were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to approve to hire a part time Zoning & Ordinance Enforcement Officer and Council Member Tina Nowlin second. All were in favor so the motion carried.


Under New Business Council Member Tommy Ferguson wants to put on the next council agenda about Joshua Waybright getting a raise.


Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to adjourn and Council Member Tommy Ferguson second. All were in favor so the meeting was adjourned.


The Mayor and the Council Members went into the Administrative Meeting and talked about doing something with Animal Control but it was not moved over to the next Council Agenda.
