MINUTES
The Town Council of the Town of Kinsey held its regular meeting on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Senior Building. Mayor Jason Reneau called the meeting to order. Others present were Council Members Cindy Gaylor, Veleta Watson, Tina Nowlin, Gene Sims, Town Clerk Rachel Exum, Water Operator Max Colon, Police Chief Jim Mock and several citizens of the community. Absent was Council Members Tommy Ferguson, King Thomas and Vivian Jones.
Mr. Ed Gaylor opened the meeting with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 16, 2024 meeting and Council Member Tina Nowlin second. All were in favor so the motion carried.
Council Member Tina Nowlin made a motion to approve the Financials for August 2024 and Council Member Cindy Gaylor second. All were in favor so the motion carried.
Chairman Brandon Shoupe, from the Houston County Commission, was at the meeting to talk about the upcoming Lodging Tax that will be on the ballot to vote on.
Council Member Tina Nowlin made a motion to approve the Resolution 10-07-2024 for the voting machines for the upcoming Municipal Election next year and Council Member Gene Sims second. All were in favor so the motion carried.
Council Member Tina Nowlin made a motion to approve the Ordinance 10-07-2024-A on concealed firearms in Kinsey and Council Member Cindy Gaylor second. All were in favor so the motion carried.
Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to approve the Mayor, Council Members and the employees to go to the 2nd Congressional District Municipal Dinner and Meeting with the town to pay for everyone except the guests. Council Member Tina Nowlin second and all were in favor so the motion carried.

Council Member Tina Nowlin made a motion to approve the courses for Max Colon and Jordan Douglas to take for Water and Wastewater. Council Member Gene Sims second and all were in favor so the motion carried.
The Mayor and the Council went into the Administrative Meeting and talked about the Alabama Municipal Official Training for the Mayor and the Council Members starting next year.
Council Member Cindy Gaylor made a motion to adjourn and Council Member Tina Nowlin second. All were in favor so the meeting was adjourned.
