MINUTES


The Town Council of the Town of Kinsey held its regular meeting on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 6:00 pm on Zoom.
Mayor Jason Reneau called the meeting to order.


Others present were Council Members Tommy Ferguson, Joe Watson, Tina Nowlin, Cindy Gaylor, Austin McArdle, Vivian Jones, Town Clerk Rachel Exum, Police Chief Tim Hurd, Water Operator Max Colon, Animal Control Officer Joshua Waybright and several citizens of the community. Absent was Council Member King Thomas.


Mayor Jason Reneau opened the meeting with Prayer.
Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 2, 2021 meeting and Council Member Vivian Jones second. All were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to approve the street light policy with the change for the Council to approve the street light application. Council Member Tommy Ferguson second and all were in favor so the motion carried.


Council Member Tommy Ferguson made a motion to give Joshua Waybright a $1.00 raise now and a $1.00 raise when he passes the water test. Council Member Tina Nowlin second and the mayor called for a roll call vote. Council Members Cindy said No, Joe said No, Vivian said Yes, Tommy said Yes, Tina said Yes and Austin said No and the Mayor broke the tie with a Yes so, the motion passed.


Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to give Botanical Gardens a leak adjustment for 3 months before the high bill. Council Member Tina Nowlin second and all were in favor except Council Member Tommy Ferguson said no but the motion passed.


The Mayor and the Council Members went into the Administrative Meeting and the following items were moved to the next Council Agenda:

Board of Adjustments/New Member
Budget for Oct. 2021 to Sept. 2022
Water Department:
Quote to upgrade cellular modem on flow meter
Police Department:
Police Academy
Planning & Zoning:
Irvin Williams on Roney Road


Council Member Joe Watson made a motion to adjourn and Council Member Tommy Ferguson second. All were in favor so the meeting was adjourned.
